YORK Schoolboy Under-11s bowed out of the West Yorkshire Cup after a 3-1 semi-final defeat at Nottingham.

York ended the second period in the ascendancy and they carried that into the third period, with Alfie Evans starring in the centre of defence and Luke Jones, pictured below right, commanding the centre of midfield.
A great crossfield pass from Alex Kemp then unluckily struck the referee, handing the attacking advantage to Nottingham.
With York outnumbered at the back, Nottingham’s shot on goal was superbly saved by the diving Storr, only for the rebound to fall to a forward who made it 2-1 with five minutes left to play.
York pushed on in the hope of finding an equaliser, with shots from Jarvis and Simpson forcing great saves from the ‘keeper.
With a minute left on the clock, a quick break by Nottingham resulted in a third goal.
The man of the match was Jones for his captain’s display in central defence and midfield.
York U14s were 3-0 winners in a friendly at Nottingham.
York went 1-0 up when Zac Lawrence surged down the left and his cross was parried by the keeper into the path of Eddie Greenhill, who slotted it home.

At the start of the second half, York scored their second goal when Joe Kemp fired home from a corner which the Nottingham defence failed to clear.
Kemp then provided the pass to put Max Tweddle clear inside the penalty area and he placed the ball past the advancing keeper.
