A YORK mum who runs art classes for children as young as 16 months old has been nominated for a national award.
Lynn Rowan last year launched ARTventurers York, which provides regular art sessions for pre-school children at various venues throughout the city.
It has now been nominated for the Best Local Activity for the under-fives category in the What’s On 4 Little Ones Awards.
Lynn said she started up the sessions because she wanted to provide a fun, colourful environment where toddlers and children could enjoy activities such as painting, modelling, and messy and sensory play, get creative and use their imaginations.
She said: “From starting my very first classes in the summer holidays last year at Poppleton Road Memorial Hall, in York, with just a few children, the word has really spread and each week now, we run really busy classes.”
