AFTER nearly three months since the removal of the bus stop signs in Low Ousegate, they’re back.
Well at least the electronic timetables have arrived.
Would it be churlish I ask, to complain? The fact is, they are facing the wrong way.
Normally these signs face the queuing passengers, almost unbelievably, all the queuing passengers see is the back of the signs.
Probably more than 90 per cent of the intending passengers approach from Spurriergate and High Ousegate.
Now we still haven’t had the actual “bus stop” signs put up so for visitors there is no visual indication of a bus stop.
But hey! Do you expect the council to cater for visitors?
Judging by the almost complete lack of toilets and litter bins the answer is obvious.
Never mind, we have the interesting spectacle of people queuing both sides of the posts, and the potential for arguments as to who is before whom.
Pity the council couldn’t have had their new offices in Shambles. It would have been so appropriate.
