COUNCIL leader James Alexander bemoans (Letters, March 17) having to find savings of £74 million during the five years of this Parliament, and that as a result a quarter of the council’s workforce will have lost their jobs.
To lead by example in these hard times, how many councillors will have to be made redundant? How many cabinet posts will be lost? Thought not.
There was an old theme tune that had the title “self -preservation society”. It could have been made for these times.
