BOOTHAM held on to top spot in the York Conservative Clubs' Slater Cup Snooker Pairs League despite losing 5-2 to Heworth.
The teams shared the first two games before P and N Hodgson moved Heworth ahead with a black ball success. Bootham levelled again with a 14-point aggregate advantage.
H and J Faircliffe gave Heworth the lead again with a nine-point win, then M Robinson and F Mallinson decided the match for Heworth with a 50-point victory which earned them the aggregate point.
Acomb raced into a 4-0 lead over bottom placed Fulford, who have yet to win a match, before D Scott and P Dunmore stopped the run.
M Frank and D Chapman had a walkover win in the last game to give Acomb a 6-1 victory.
Bootham a top with 47 points, one ahead of Heworth, with Acomb a point further back in third.
With only one set of fixtures remaining, Bootham are favourites as they host Fulford, while Acomb play Heworth.
