THE boss of a York play centre where two children were allegedly mistreated in its car park has appealed for witnesses to come forward.
A member of the public claimed a man and a woman behaved in "an aggressive manner" towards two boys - one aged nine and the other aged between three and four - outside Creepy Crawlies on Wigginton Road between 2pm and 2,30pm on March 8.
North Yorkshire Police has today appealed for anybody who saw the incident to contact them, with the force saying the play centre was "fully co-operating" with the investigation.
Janice Dunphy, Creepy Crawlies' managing director, said the centre was "devastated" about the alleged incident in the site's overflow car park, and its staff would have intervened if they had seen anything. She said: "We will supply any information we can to the police to assist with their enquiries and urge any witnesses to do the same."
Anybody with information should phone Detective Constable Laura Wood or the York Protecting Vulnerable Persons Unit on 101 or email laura.wood@northyorkshire.pnn.police.uk. They can also contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
