FREE-SCORING Poppleton Tigers Under-14s stormed to an 8-0 victory over Cayton Corinthians in the semi-finals of the North Riding County FA Cup.
Poppleton will now face Kader United, a strong team from Middlesbrough, in the end of season final at County FA headquarters in Stokesley.
Early Tigers pressure paid off as the home side forced an own goal from a defensive clearance.
Poppleton went in search of more goals and a superb passing move led to a shot from midfielder Tammy Dunlop, which made it 2-0.
Cayton had their spells of pressure, but found it difficult to cope with Poppleton as they made it 3-0 with another goal from Dunlop and she completed her hat-trick before half-time.
After the break, Cayton gathered their composure and came back at Poppleton, carving out some chances of their own.
However, Poppleton soon found the net again with an accomplishedfinish from Charlie Boyle.
Another superb passing move led to a mazy run from Rachel Humble, who then coolly finished past the keeper.
Anna Whitehead then won the ball and unselfishly passed to Meg Falcus, who hit a screamer into the back of the net.
Another attacking flurry led to another cool finish from Boyle.
Team manager Sandra Falcus said: “Yet again Poppleton Tigers played outstanding football. They passed the ball around with skill, precision and bags of energy.
“It was a great advert for girls’ football. No one player was selfish and after goal glory, they all looked for the pass and the goals came. It was an outstanding result.”
