NURSERY children at a York school have raised more than £500 for a cancer care charity with a week of fundraising events.
The nursery class at Headlands Primary and Haxby decided to raise money for Marie Curie after after taking part in the “Mini Pots of Care” scheme.
The charity is also close to the hearts of many in the school after office worker Jane Peck died of cancer last year.
The children ran cake sales, a bring and buy sale, and a raffle with the top prize of a bike donated by Tesco.
