COLLEAGUES at a store in York have saddled up for charity.

About 20 members of staff at TK Maxx at Monks Cross, York, donned fancy dress and took part in a sponsored exercise challenge in store as part of the branch’s fundraiser for Cancer Research UK called “Cycling around the world”.

Each store was allocated a country to cycle through on an exercise bike and the Monks Cross’ staff had to cycle the 290 km from North to South Wales.

Surrounded by blow-up daffodils and Welsh dragons, they each spent 30 minutes or an hour on the bike and raised £468 over two days.

Heather Hill, assistant manager at the store, said: “It was tiring but great fun.”

The store also received 369 bags of accessories and clothes donations, and has raised £2,718 for Children with Cancer UK since February 10.
