Metal detector alert
RESIDENTS in Wistow have been urged to report any suspicious activity to the police after several reports of possibly unauthorised metal detecting being carried out on land nearby.
A North Yorkshire Police spokeswoman said holes had been dug in the ground around the Wistow area overnight and were not filled in, but nobody has been seen in the area during the daytime.
