IN his letter, The Press, March 14, Allan Denney wonders if drivers might come to like a car- free city centre.
Might I suggest it won’t be long before we have a car-free city. I cannot remember roads and footpaths being in such poor condition (pot holes, sunken grates and very poor surfaces).
It is a nightmare on a pedal cycle. My son is a mechanic and he says it is unbelievable the number of vehicles coming into the garage with broken suspensions.
If anyone knows a decent road surface in York please let me know.
