NEW Earswick All Blacks Under-12s made it three wins out of three this term with an 18-10 defeat of Ovenden.
Josh Thompson had one of his best games so far in the forwards, while Gunes Simsek made good yards throughout. All Blacks’ defence was also very good in the second half.
Ritesh Gurung scored twice, taking his try tally to five in the three games, and fellow winger Owen Bassett also crossed, Sam Briggs adding three conversions.
Heworth U11s put in a great team performance to beat Emley Moor in style.
Leading from the front, captain Leon Mooring capped a man-of-the-match performance with a hat-trick of tries, with Flynn Pagdin adding a great solo effort.
Myles Harrison completed the scoring after a great off-load by most improved player Max Hodgson. Josh Atkin Stone took the top tackling award for some great hits and he was ably supported by Callum Rutland and the busy Luke Kane.
Heworth U9s came up against an impressive Oulton Raiders side who produced some superb rugby and proved just too good on the day.
Heworth continued to give it their all, with Keane Brough, Lucas Burden and Harvey Watson making good yards with strong runs. Burden and Watson got the Villagers’ tries.
Heworth U8s put up a good fight against an experienced Milford side only to see the Marlins run away with it in the second half.
Adam Hodgson was parents’ man of the match, closely pushed by most improved player Dan Clarke, while Callum Constanzo was the opposition’s choice of star man.
Heworth tries came from Adam Hodgson (2), Constanzo and Ellis Cochrane.
