Pedal power was the attraction at the National Railway Museum when stunt cyclists showed off their skills in the Great Hall.

Savage Skills, the award-winning freestyle mountain bike stunt team, gave visitors a demonstration which highlighted why they have eight world and more than 25 British championships to their name.

They also taught onlookers how they do their stunts and explained the science behind them. The displays were part of National Science and Engineering Week, which featured other interactive science shows at the museum.

Rose Lindsay-Smith, public programmes co-ordinator, said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for all to learn together and get a better understanding of the science that is all around us. We’re delighted to be running this event at with the Savage Skills team."
