TO QUANTIFY the the Lendal Bridge fines, I have been fined, totally oblivious at the time to actually breaking any by law, due to both ignorance and poor signs.
To add insult to injury I find my transgression was after the trial end date. The only action available to me is to grudgingly pay the fine and never visit the city again, the net cost about £200 per year.
Multiply this by the 5,0000 other poor suckers to whom this has happened and I hope the council spend the £30 quids wisely. It’s the last money York will see from me and many others.
