NATWEST has announced it is to close its Acomb branch on June 11.
The bank said in a letter to customers that the closure decision had been a difficult one, but more and more customers were opting to use alternative methods of banking, such as online.
As a result, the number of people using the branch had dropped significantly.
The bank said customers could still use an ATM at Tesco Express, Acomb Wood, or any other NatWest branch, such as one in York city centre.
