A THEATRE company is launching a “pup idol” contest to find dogs to appear in a stage production at York Theatre Royal next month.
Mischief Theatre are looking for skilled pooches for a walk on - or carry on - role in its West End smash hit comedy, The Play That Goes Wrong, between April 8 and April 12.
Any pet owner who thinks their dog has what it takes to tread the boards should tweet a picture to @mischiefcomedy and @YorkTheatre with the hashtag #YorkPupIdol or send an email with an attachment to the production office: kezia@kennywax.com.
“A commitment to attend at least two performances would be required,” said a spokeswoman.
“The lucky owners will receive a pair of tickets to see the show on their dog’s night off and a family ticket for four people) for one of their dog’s performances.
“The winner will be picked on Wed 2 April 2014. Owners must be prepared to accompany their prize pet back-stage in the theatre. Please do not enter your dog if it is afraid if loud noises.”
