A TEENAGE girl has been charged with assault after a PCSO was attacked in York city centre.
North Yorkshire Police were called to McDonald's in Blake Street at about 9.30pm on Saturday, to reports of a group of about 20 youths causing a disturbance.
As officers dealt with the incident, a PCSO was assaulted by the 15-year-old girl, who was arrested and charged with assaulting a designated/accredited person in the execution of their duty.
A spokesman said the PCSO was not injured in the incident, and the girl is due to appear before York Youth Court next month.
