An East Yorkshire school is linking up with a leading renewable energy firm to give its pupils experience of working in the industry.
The partnership between CREATE Studio, Goole, and RWE Innogy UK (Innogy) will enable students to visit local wind farm sites, the Port of Goole and Drax power station and undertake a combined engineering, business and geography challenge.
Nicola Bell, a renewables developer for Innogy, said: “As a responsible developer, we are always keen to be involved in the communities in which we operate and I’m delighted that we have established this partnership with the CREATE Studio.
“As a school specialising in both academic excellence and employability skills, I am keen to offer students first-hand experience of what it is like to work as a renewables developer, and to enhance their understanding of this growing sector through site visits and practical exercises.”
