CITY of York Council and the probation trust have started a spring clean of the city.
Throughout the first week of the spring, volunteers have helped to tidy Clifton and Rawcliffe.
Efforts includes Year 4 pupils from Clifton Green Primary School tidying up Crombie Avenue Play Park, while student volunteers from Manor School worked in Rawcliffe Country Park, thinning woodland and planting snowdrops.
Resident volunteers have managed to collect more than 20 bags of litter from the areas near Scarborough Bridge and around Rawcliffe Lake.
This week will see a tidy of Dringhouses and Woodthorpe wards including planting trees and litter picking within Acomb Wood.
