TWO men arrested in York have appeared before a magistrates court accused of the murder of a 57-year-old man.
Thomas Tunney, 31, of Outgang Lane, York, appeared before Wakefield Magistrates' Court yesterday, charged in connection with the death of Sidney Cox.
Police have previously said Mr Cox was found with multiple injuries at Thorpe House Farm in Middleton Lane, Thorpe near Leeds on August 24 last year. Mr Cox was taken to Leeds General Infirmary where he died of his injuries the following day.
A spokesman for West Yorkshire Police, who are carrying out the investigation into Mr Cox's death, said Reynolds Tunney, 53, of Mill Lane, Brigg, North Lincolnshire, also appeared before magistrates today in connection with the murder.
The spokesman told The Press both men had been arrested in Outgang Lane on Monday.
Both men were remanded in custody by magistrates and will appear at Leeds Crown Court on Monday, March 31.
