A TEAM of dedicated fundraisers have battled through wind, sleet and hail to complete a 180 mile bike ride for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance.
York Tug of War Club completed their second Coast to Coast challenge cycling from Morecambe to Bridlington, battling the elements as they rode over the Pennines and back through York.
In just three days, eight cyclists, including a novice rider on a tandem, completed the route and the club estimate that their current fundraising total is at about £2,000 for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance.
Club Chairman Neil Hudson said that this Coast to Coast challenge was harder than the last one they took part in.
"We undertook this bike ride knowing that the weather could turn against us, and it did. Hail, sleet, driving rain and a head wind all went to make this our hardest challenge by far," he said.
