GEOFF ROBB (Letters, March 22) welcomes a £7 billion cut in green taxes in the Chancellor’s budget. He goes on to predict that the “dash for green” will implode “due to it being built on sand”.
I should be interested to know Mr Robb’s evidence for this, since his view contradicts the fifth assessment report from the Intergovernmental panel on climate change, the fourth carbon budget review from the Government’s committee on climate change and overlooks the fact that the Government remains committed to cutting UK carbon emissions by 80 per cent by 2050.
