HAVING lived in Tang Hall in my younger days, I have always had an interest in happenings in that area.

Years ago a little girl in Rawdon Avenue was found murdered near home on wasteland. Years afterwards Claudia Lawrence disappeared without trace in that area, apparently while walking to work at the university from her house in Heworth village. Her body has never yet been found.

Two serious unsolved incidents in that small area of the city and someone must have been involved.

There must be others in other areas. Is there a police unit locally or in the country which specialises in cases like this, or are they just left to gather dust while someone responsible gets on with their lives undisturbed?
