RESIDENTS of North Yorkshire have been urged to spring-clean their wardrobes and donate old clothes to charity.
Barnardo’s shops across York will launch their new spring collection of clothes and goods next week, and hope it will encourage people to donate. Lindsey Harris, Barnardo’s area business manager, said: “This is usually one of our busiest times of year. We hope that families planning to spring-clean their homes will also be spring-cleaning their wardrobes too.”
All proceeds from Barnardo’s shops go towards the charity’s work with children and families in the local area. Lindsey said women’s tops, handbags and shoes are most needed, but all donations were welcome.
