SECONDARY school pupils in Pocklington will witness 14 people becoming British citizens in a special ceremony on Monday.
The citizenship ceremony is being held at Woldgate Performing Arts College at 7pm. The ceremonies are held in the East Riding once a month but once a year they are taken into a secondary school to allow pupils to see what is involved, and to give the new citizens a community welcome.
Pupils have helped plan the ceremony as part of their citizenship studies. On the night the school orchestra will perform and the ceremony will be followed by a reception hosted by students.
