It may be lambing season, but a farm park near York has witnessed a more exotic arrival.
Seven red-footed tortoises have been donated to Piglets Adventure Farm Park, at The Farmer’s Cart near Strensall, by a York woman who wanted to find a good home for them.
Farmer’s Cart director Ed Sykes said: “We have built an enclosure for them in the petting barn and they have settled in nicely. ”
Farmer Geoff Sykes said: “The two males, Albert and Fred, have already developed a taste for our home-grown mucky carrots.”
