PARAMEDICS, police and fire crews were called to a two-car crash which closed a road in York this morning, with an injured man being cut out of his vehicle.
The crash happened at about 9.50am on Leeman Road, between its junctions with Garfield Terrace and Kingsland Terrace and the entrance to Carlisle Street, near the railway bridge.
Firefighters cut a man out of one of the damaged cars and he was taken to hospital, but his injuries are not life-threatening. The stretch of road near the bridge was closed both ways until about 11.50am, with local bus services being diverted.
