Three girls from Tadcaster Grammar School are going head to head for the title of TeenStar 2014.

Kelly Bolland, Beth Stevens and Bronte-Leia Hardy hope to go all the way to the top, but first they have to get through the regional final at the City Hal in Sheffield on April 6.

Year 11 student Kelly wowed the judges with her vocal rendition of Skinny Love by Bon Iver at the heats. And 15-year-old Beth is no stranger to the competition as she entered last year.

“I will be singing my own song entitled I Don’t Trust You and must admit to feeling a little nervous, as this will be the first time I have performed one of my own pieces,” said Beth.

Likewise, Bronte-Leia Hardy, who entered Open Mic UK last year, will also be singing her own composition – Parable of Cardboard City.

Entrants could ultimately play under the roof of some of the best live music venues in the UK, such as the NEC and London’s O2, where last year’s final took place.

“That would be my dream,” said Kelly. “To reach the XFactor, to become famous, anything; I absolutely love singing and want to make it my career.”

There are £20,000 worth of singing competition prizes up for grabs and a comprehensive winner’s package which includes recording studio time, music development classes and a main prize of £5,000 cash to spend.
