NEW rules on turbines are being sought by Tories (The Press, March 24).

I fully support Conservative councillors Jenny Brooks and Paul Doughty on this matter, and to call for a mandatory minimum distance between wind turbines and the nearest homes that will act as a buffer zone to protect York’s communities.

It is right that local people are allowed to have their say on such important issues that affect their lives as we live in a democracy, not a dictatorship.
