THE North Yorkshire county pool team opened their season with two wins and a defeat at East Yorkshire.
The men’s ‘A’ team were unable to get a maiden victory for new captain Si Newby, losing 24-20. The stand-out performers were Graham Worcester, who played four and won four, Matt Rowland and Gray Carver, who both played four and won three.
The men’s ‘B’ side produced a fantastic performance to give long-standing captain John Patrick a 23-21 victory. Lee Peasgood marked his debut with four wins out of four, while Paul Wilson, debutant Dale Gordon and Dan Gration all managed three wins from four.
The ladies team demolished East Yorkshire with plenty of games to spare as they ran out comfortable 28-16 winners. Vicky Edwardson, on debut, and Jo Baker both played four and won four. Hayley Worrall, Rachel Worrall and Dawn Suter played four and won three.
