DETECTIVES are treating a fire in a farmer’s field in York as arson.
Fire crews were called to the fire in a private field next to Haxby Road, near Joseph Rowntree School, at about 8pm on Monday.
A fire service spokesman said the fire may have been started deliberately, and had caused about £150 worth of damage to the farmer’s crops.
