MAJOR alterations and, hopefully, improvements are now taking place at York Central Library.

The work will take months to complete. The job will not be finished before November.

Consequently, library users will be greatly affected.

When Harrogate’s main library underwent similar changes a few years ago, its library moved into an empty building until the library work was completed.

Surely York Library could have moved into an empty building somewhere in the city centre? There are several vacant properties there.
