I must ask: has the world progressed much, if at all, this century? Saddam has been hanged; whether or not Osama Bin Laden is dead, or alive, is unknown; distressing events continue in Iraq and Afghanistan and throughout the world; the Pope's statement caused much unrest; there has been much other religious comment and the Archbishop of York stated, inter alia: "We should build our nest together." A very commendable objective, but what is the reality?
In my letter, kindly published, in The Press (October 23, 2001), I asked:'Is it not time for Islam and all other religions to be made redundant, and one religion created for one world which was created by one God - unless there was more than one God?"
When this is put into effect by our religious leaders, the Archbishop of York's plea for us to "build our nest together" will have more chance of becoming reality.
