Nine primary schools are all geared up for action in the Marston Moor Cup tomorrow.
The competition, which is part of the York International 9s Rugby League Festival, takes place at Heworth ARLC's Elm Park Way as an aperitif to the latter stages of the main York 9s tournament.
Last year, six teams took part in the Marston Moor Cup, with Ralph Butterfield School emerging victorious in the final.
The tournament has been extended this year to comprise nine primary schools - Bishopthorpe, St Oswald's, St Peter's, St Mary's, Our Lady's, Osbaldwick, Tang Hall, Headlands and Westfield.
The nine will be put into a league but time constraints mean they won't be able to play every other team, so instead each team will play four games. The top four in the table based on those results will go into semi-finals, with the final being played as a curtain-raiser to the main York 9s finale.
