AN EVENT to plan a ‘Poverty Free York’ will be held next month.
The event, at Priory Street Centre on Tuesday, July 15, between 9.30am and 12.30pm, is part of York CVS 75th anniversary Challenging Events Programme, explaining what being a poverty free city means.
This will be followed by a workshop and discussion on the role that the voluntary sector can play in making this happen.
Garry Jones, Chief Executive of York CVS said “This is an exciting opportunity for local voluntary sector organisations to hear Julia Unwin draw on her wealth of experience, and outline how local voluntary groups can contribute to making York a poverty free city. York is looking to lead the way in the fight against poverty and aims to set an example for the rest of the UK.”
