A 'EWE-NIQUE' view of the Tour de France will be provided by sheep on a North Yorkshire farm after they were fitted with cameras.
The five sheep at Harewell Hall in Harrogate were recruited by Sony to wear HD AS100VR ActionCams, which have features to smoothe out camera wobbles and provide blur-free images whilst the animals are on the move.
Simona Gaia Bara, of Sony, said the cameras had been fitted securely with adapted dog harnesses, and farmer Ian Hammond could control them remotely. And if it rained on Sunday, the footage would not be affected, as the cameras were splash proof.
"We felt this would be a great way to celebrate Tour de France’s arrival in Yorkshire.," said Simona. "What better way to capture the footage than through a sheep cam? It’s the behind the scenes footage we’d never see”.
Mr Hammond said: "I’m looking forward to seeing how my flock perform as Sony’s first ever sheep cam.”
