ACOMB could not prevent Heworth from maintaining their advantage at the top of the York Conservative Clubs' Faber Shield Billiards League.
Dave Birch won the first game for Heworth by 60 points but John Ashwell, (21 break) hit back to win by a six-point margin.
Heworth's Tony Tennyson then had breaks of 42 and 31 unfinished and he restricted Marcus O'Boyle to score only four points to add to his +65 handicap.
Trevor Ventress levelled the match but Brian Birch and Steve Burdett won the last two games to secure Heworth's 5-2 victory.
Bootham A' enjoyed a comfortable 5-2 win over their B' team. John Darley, Colin Robinson, John Woodall and Nick Parker won for A' team with replies from Tony Lambert and Ian Robinson (walkover).
