UNBEATEN Heworth A' started the second half of the York Conservative Clubs' Carlsberg UK Snooker League season with a 6-1 defeat of their B' team.
Steve Burdett started the rout when Brian Birch miscued on the final black and gifted him the game.
Mark Winskill (25 break), Jason Milner and Kevin Gall made it 4-0 before Vic Gamble reduced the arrears. Clive Whyte produced the highlight - a 91 break - before Tony Tennyson completed the win.
Fulford A' moved up to second spot, also with a 6-1 win over their B' team. Their points were gained by Wayne Puleston, Pete Dunmore, Wayne Hartley, Richard Stroughair (36-break), Simon England (25 break) and Jeff Brown. John Adcock prevented the whitewash with a black ball success over Tom Wilson.
Bootham A' lost 4-3 to Bootham B' . The teams shared the first six frames with Ian Robinson, Chris Dawson and Lionel Barnes winning for the B' team and Tim Fillingham, Brian Coulson and Barry Rankin for the A' side.
Ray Stamp secured the match by winning the last frame on the pink.
