CITY of York Hockey Club's girls Under-12s' A' continued their progress towards the end of season Yorkshire finals.
They put in another set of impressive displays in their latest Yorkshire Youth League matches at Doncaster.
They opened with a 1-0 win against Leeds Adel Carnegie A' thanks to Betah Hamilton's goal.
Aggie Cantrill made a fine save late in the game to help secure victory.
The goals flowed in their next game as Leeds were thumped 6-0 with goals from Hamilton, Georgina Grant (2), Lauren Boddison and Charlotte McDermottroe (2).
York completed a hat-trick of victories as strikes from Emma White and Hamilton saw off Brigg, 2-0.
The York B' team were in action at Huntington School and despite taking the lead through Emma Burton, lost 2-1 to Doncaster, who snatched a last-minute winner.
Emma Hessay had a steady outing at sweeper and Ella Nadian made some timely tackles in midfield.
They bounced back to defeat Sheffield University Bankers 2-0 with goals from Burton and Lottie Williams. Burton was also on target in a 1-0 victory over Selby.
At Under-12 level, the York girls' A' team had mixed results in their latest round of matches.
The started with a 1-0 win over Harrogate, courtesy of an Ella Davis goal. They then lost 1-0 to an early Harrogate strike, drew 0-0 with both Slazengers and LA Carnegie, before beating Brigg 1-0 with a Zara Gower goal.
The U12 B' side lost 1-0 to Kirklees, drew 0-0 with City of York C', beat Driffield 1-0 (Caira Docherty), lost 1-0 Leeds and defeated Doncaster 2-0 (Docherty and Emily Carman).
In addition to holding their B' team to a 0-0 draw, York U12 C' fought out a goal-less encounter with Doncaster. Hannah Yoward's goal also gave them a 1-1 draw with Kirklees. Kate Hemmingway was also on target in a 3-1 defeat against Driffield and completed their programme with a 3-0 loss at the hands of Leeds.
City of York U13 boys A' team were denied an unbeaten programme by a late goal.
Their latest batch of Yorkshire Youth League fixtures saw them unbeaten until they went down 1-0 to Halifax in the final game of the day - the goal coming late in the game.
Earlier they beat Harrogate 2-0 with goals from Lewis Inman and Peter Fitton, who were also the scorers as Driffield were defeated 2-1.
Matt Hays (2) and Fitton were on target in a 3-1 win against Rotherham, but the game against Slazengers ended in a 0-0 stalemate.
Fitton and Hays were well supported in midfield by Robert Abel.
The York B' team did not concede a goal in their four games. They drew 0-0 with LA Carnegie and beat Doncaster when Jack Rientoul scored the only goal. Rientoul and Matthew Andrews were on target in a 2-0 victory over Driffield and Rientoul, with his third goal, and Phillip Worrall hit the net in a 2-0 victory over Leeds.
Starring in the B' team defence were Luke Doran, Chris Engleman and Bethany Worrall.
City of York boys U12 C' doubled up against Bradford and Ben Rhydding C'.
In a round-robin league they played each opponent twice and started with a 2-0 defeat against Ben Rhydding.
York gave a much-improved performance against Bradford, winning 1-0 with a Nathan Wilson goal after good work by Noah Culpin.
The second game against Ben Rhydding was a much closer affair. But with seconds to go, a lapse in concentration from a York free-hit saw their Ilkley-based opponents score the only goal of the match.
The rematch against Bradford saw confident York cruise to a 4-0 victory with Culpin scoring a hat-trick and Wilson grabbing the other goal. Charles Tomlinson and Matt Burrell kept Bradford at arm's length while right-winger Elliot Kimberley did well.
