AN Acomb play park looks likely to be revamped by October.
Hugh Bayley, MP for York Central, met with Cllr Steve Burton to discuss plans to revamp the play area near Cornlands Road and build a new play area.
Mr Bayley said: “It is fantastic to hear of the work that is being done by the council and local community to transform the play area into a place for families in the community to enjoy. Councillor Burton’s hard work should be praised for supporting a project that improves the local environment.”
Cllr Steve Burton said: “This shows what can happen when the council and the local community work together to improve facilities in the area.”
The Cornlands and Lowfields Residents Association have given their views on the funding options for the play area. It is also hoped that mosaic work by children from a local school will be included as part of the project.
