I DO feel worried for Aled Jones, having read his letter "Attack on values" (Readers' Letters, January 22). There is obviously some sort of conspiracy going on in Bridlington that the rest of this nation is still unaware of.
Only hours before reading his letter, I visited a card shop in the great metropolis that is York and purchased a birthday card for my mum with "Mother" emblazoned across it in big letters.
I was overwhelmed by the choice, which by the way extended to cards for father, wife, husband, daughter, son, Uncle Tom Cobley and so on.
I cannot, however, recall seeing one for a "partner" which I suppose has to be good news. Family life and parental responsibility has obviously not broken down here in this fine city as yet.
