When she collapsed during a flight to Australia, Dennis used the resuscitation skills he had learned on a first-aid course in Bishopthorpe - and helped to bring her back to life.
What finer proof could there be of the value of such life-saving courses. And, at a time when the world seems to have gone mad for the gruesome antics of Celebrity Big Brother, here is a happy slice of real reality as it is lived by ordinary, decent people.
