Leaders Eggborough Kestrels saw off Selby Working Men's Club 7-3 in Selby Fasprint Table Tennis League division one.
John Peters and Phil Hall were undefeated, while Selby captain Roger Ellis and Geoff Harrop saved the whitewash with a single set each.
Eggborough Eagles beat Womersley 7-3 with young star James Atkins and the experienced Paul Dykes undefeated. Womersley had a player short, being caught up in the atrocious weather and traffic chaos. Dave Powell and Roy Crossland with one set each saved the whitewash and combined to win the doubles in three games.
Division two bottom club Eggborough Harriers crashed again, 9-1 to Thorpe Cobras. Steve Peters again won all three sets as did Dave Little, with Natasha Komissarova winning her two sets and the doubles. Steve Roddy saved the whitewash.
Thorpe Vipers, initially Thorpe's premier team, lost 8-2 to Eggborough Merlins, whose captain, John Halliday, won his three sets, with Phil Bromilow and stand-in Mick Walker taking two each. Rob Peters and Stuart Anderson saved the whitewash.
Next week's top-of-the-table clash between Thorpe Cobras and Eggborough Merlins should indicate the likely champions. Merlins would be happy with a draw upwards, whereas Cobras look to bridge the 13-point gap.
