The Government wants to teach Britishness' to teenagers in an attempt to build a stronger sense of community.
Nothing wrong with that. As a nation, we have a proud culture and a proud tradition of achievement. Both are well worth celebrating, in the same way that the diversity that makes up modern Britain is worth celebrating.
Just one thing. Haven't we always taught Britishness in our schools? Surely that's what history and geography lessons are all about?
