SPRINTERS and hurdlers were to the fore for Nestlé Rowntree Athletics Club at the North of England Indoor Championships at Sheffield.
The York-based club won five medals in all - two silver and three bronze.
James Buck zipped to silver in the Under-15 200metres and landed bronze in the 60m dash when he was narrowly beaten by club mate Adam Collinson.
Collinson had also run a phenomenal 200m heat, winning clearly, but had stepped out of his lane and so was disqualified.
Tom Bennington also achieved bronze in the U20 men's 60m. He had looked set for another rostrum place in the 200m, when he qualified for the final with ease but was edged into fourth place, only to be disqualified for stepping out of his lane.
Hurdler Alisdair Dewar also claimed bronze, and two U15 girls, Laura Skelton and Natalie Jones, also qualified against stiff competition to achieve places in the final.
The other medal success came when Charlotte Maxted battled hard to gain a bronze in the U20 800m.
Lauren Bodie did herself proud by finishing fourth in the U20 shot with a personal best of 11.40metres - and a new club record.
