POCKLINGTON RUFC and Pocklington School back row forward Richard Skowronek has gained rugby union representative honours with his selection in the Yorkshire Under-15s squad.
Skowronwek plays his club rugby on Sundays for Pocklington RUFC U15s and is also captain of his school side. He is following in the footsteps of his father, also Richard, who was a wing forward for Pocklington in the 1980s.
Richard junior started his playingcareer as a mini-rugby prop forward, but has developed into an industrious, strong-running No 8, and is a former Pocklington RUFC junior clubman of the year for his hard work for the club off the field as a team captain in past seasons.
While this is young Richard's first selection for Yorkshire, he has been making a name for himself as a future talent for a couple of seasons, including playing for East Yorkshire in 2006 and being part of the Leeds Tykes Elite Young Player Academy for the past two years.
