A serious leg injury to Mike Kellett marred York Acorn ARL Club's Under-15s' match against Castleford Panthers.
It was otherwise an exciting game with plenty of open rugby played, with Acorn, for whom James Mountford was man of the match, taking control after the break.
Stuart Leeke, Jordan Hyde, Josh Mortimer, Josh Peacock and Tom Carlos all took the game to the opposition, and try-scorers were Tyler Dawson (2), Peacock (2), Byron Summers and Mathew Winn, with Dawson (2) and Antony Chilton adding goals.
York Acorn U13s played some good rugby at times but were beaten 36-14 by a well-organised Stanley Rangers side who tackled well.
Stanley scored three tries before Acorn got on the scoreboard when a high kick was well taken by the Stanley full-back but was snatched from his grasp by man of the match Ryan Gallacher, who crossed and converted.
The second half was hard work for the Acorn, with Stanley scoring four tries before the York side touched down twice through Tim Winn and Danny Macardle from kicks into the in-goal area.
Good tackling stints came from Kyle Grayson, Nathan Hebbletwaite, Gallacher, Jordan Lawrence, Liam Mosey and Tom Bays.
