ME and my husband recently went to see Chicago at the Grand Opera House, in York. (it was excellent by the way).
We drove into the city centre and parked at Castle car park.
It cost £2 for the evening which we did not grumble at. However, I did grumble at the car parking spaces.
When my husband managed to find a space I had to breath in and manoeuvre myself out of the car very carefully as the spacing is absolutely ridiculous.
I have never known it so tight. A friend of ours told me how she had received a ticket there because her car had gone over the front line - her car is a large car (she has a family) and she had no option but to go over the line slightly so the car could fit in and she would not risk anyone catching it at the back. When she contested the ticket they told her she would have to pay.
It is just like the flats and houses that they build; squeeze as many in as possible to make more and more money. It drives me crazy.
