MY opinion on the Roman Catholic adoption agencies row (Fury over gay issue, January 25) is fairly simple.

Being gay is something you are born with, like the colour of your skin or your gender and, as such, you should not be discriminated against because of it.

Whether a religion believes this or not, does not give it the right to discriminate.

Having a strong view should not be a let-off that allows discrimination.

If it was, then we will have taken a huge step backwards in our struggle to put sexism, racism, homophobia etc, behind us.
