MEET Clifton's new crime-fighting team.

Each ward in York has a new dedicated Neighbourhood Police Team, under a scheme launched on January 15.

Clifton's is managed by Sergeant Shaun Page, with PCs Carrine Green and Matt Smith.

They are supported by Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs) Wayne Capell and John Spooner.

The aim of the team is to provide high-visibility patrols in the area and work with the community to solve long-term issues.

Officers from the team will be on hand with the mobile police station at Burton Stone Lane on February 9, from 1pm, at Crichton Avenue shops on February 19, and at Clifton Green Primary School on February 26.

Sgt Page said: "This will be an ideal opportunity to meet officers from the team, provide your views on the policing of the area, air any concerns you may have in relation to the area and understand how the new policing team will work.

"This is a new team which is currently being developed. We are in the process of building the foundations for what will be a beneficial asset to the Clifton residents, so please bear with us in the early stages."
